An icon returned to MIF with her electrifying solo project.

The magnetic songwriter, vocalist, performer and producer set the bar for synth-pop in the twenty-first century. Never shy of innovation, Alison Goldfrapp returned to MIF with her iconic modern sound.

Her seven albums with Goldfrapp were fuelled by a sixth sense for sounds more timeless than any trend. Starting out in 1999, Goldfrapp’s debut album was nominated for a Mercury Prize, and over their career they produced chart-topping singles and garnered huge critical acclaim – winning an Ivor Novello and receiving multiple Grammy and BRIT nominations.

Fast forward to the present day and recent solo work with Röyksopp and Claptone tease her signature dreamy vocals and infectious sound. Fever – her latest release, a club collaboration with house legend Paul Woolford – is a sweat-inducing future club classic made for the dancefloor. These tracks are just a taste of what’s to come.

Pure euphoria was on the cards as Alison Goldfrapp brought her shimmering and explosive energy to MIF23, following her sell-out show at the 2013 Festival.

Aviva Studios is a new purpose-built cultural space in the heart of Manchester. The entrance to our building is through double glass doors. There are automatic doors at both entrances.

Once inside, there is step-free access to all areas of the venue. You will arrive into the Social, a large public space where there are a range of seats (including those with arms), a bar and toilets (including accessible toilets).

The bars in the Social and Hall Foyer have lowered accessible service points.

The entrance to the Hall is by lift, escalator or stairs from one side of the Social beside the brick arches. There is only one escalator, and this took you up to the Hall before the show, and was be reversed so that you could travel down at the end of the performance.

There are accessible toilets on all public levels of the building.

Accessible toilets (a mixture of wheelchair accessible cubicles with right- or left-hand transfer as well as accessible ambulant cubicles with grab rails) are located in the brick arches in the Social.

There are additional accessible toilets located in both Hall Foyers.

You do not need a key to use the accessible toilets at Aviva Studios.

If you need to bring an assistance dog to this event, please contact access@factoryinternational.org

We will be using Williams WaveCAST headsets for both assisted listening and personal induction loops in the building. Unfortunately, this system was not yet in place for our MIF23 shows in the building. We are sorry for any inconvenience this caused.

BSL interpretation of Alison Goldfrapp's performance was provided by Lizzie Wharton. Lizzie was positioned stage left.
