Elbow and The Hallé
Orchestrated and conducted by Joe Duddell

8 - 9 July 2009 The Bridgewater Hall

From the release of 2001 debut Asleep in the Back to 2008’s Mercury Prize, and South Bank Show Award, winning fourth album The Seldom Seen Kid, Elbow’s journey has been a remarkable one. For the Festival, Manchester’s favourite sons return to their cherished home town to collaborate with another of the city’s artistic powerhouses in the shape of The Hallé, Manchester’s own multi-award-winning symphony orchestra and the city’s original cultural icon.

Over two nights at The Bridgewater Hall, Elbow and The Hallé will be playing songs from across the band’s career and beyond, curated in collaboration with Mancunian composer Joe Duddell. Trust us: you don’t want to miss this…

‘I’ve been going to the Hallé since I was a kid. They are the original Manchester band – this is a dream come true.’ Guy Garvey ‘Astonishingly powerful’ Sarah Crompton – The Telegraph
