Manchester-born musician and DJ Calum Lee – aka Paleman – has won cult status for a series of quietly thrilling releases that have breathed new life into minimal electronic music. With a monthly Rinse FM show and collaborations with the likes of Polar Bear under his belt, Lee’s now taking his music to another level with a new live show that incorporates his own dazzling jazz drumming – and you can see it first at MIF17. Get there earlier for a support set from Sam Walton, another favourite son of the city.
Paleman’s first ever live show will include a bill of special guests curated by Mary Anne Hobbs for a special late-night Dark Matter. Full times to be announced.
Curated by Mary Anne Hobbs for MIF17, Dark Matter is eight immersive shows from pioneering national, international and Manchester-based musicians.
Commissioned and produced by Manchester International Festival.
