Reggie ‘Regg Roc’ Gray directed one of the big hits of MIF15: FlexN Manchester, a thrilling transatlantic street dance collaboration featuring dancers from Greater Manchester and Reggie’s native New York. Two years on, we’re delighted that Reggie will be returning to the Festival for a residency at Contact, part of a series of MIF17 events exploring contemporary dance.
During his time at Contact, Reggie will be introducing a group of young dancers to the flexn dance style, working with local spoken word collective Young Identity to explore new ways of telling stories through words and movement.
We’d be delighted if you could join us at Contact for an informal evening where Reggie, the dancers and Young Identity will be sharing the results of the residency. This will be followed by a unique open floor event at which dancers will be invited to take to the dancefloor and poets to the mic. There’ll also be food and drink available.
Admission is free, but booking is essential.
