Tree of Codes shortlisted for an Olivier Award

We’re absolutely thrilled that the spectacular Tree of Codes has been nominated for a 2018 Olivier Award for ‘Best New Dance’. First premiering at Manchester International Festival in 2015, we’re so proud to see this incredible piece continuing to leave its mark on audiences and critics alike.

Tree of Codes had its London premiere at Sadler’s Wells last year in March and was described as “a joyous sensory overload” (Pitchfork) and “an artistic triumph” (The Stage).

The essence of MIF distilled into a single show Tree of Codes is a stunning collaboration between three world-class artists, that leaves audiences breathless. Jamie xx’s scintillating score, Olafur Eliasson’s dazzling designs and Wayne McGregor’s visceral choreography, danced by members of his own company alongside the stars of the great Paris Opera Ballet, come together to create something greater than the sum of their component parts – and drew standing ovations at the premiere run at Manchester Opera House at MIF15, continuing to do so around the globe; Tree of Codes has so far been presented to great acclaim in New York, London, Aarhus, Paris, Melbourne and Sydney.

We hope this gesamtkunstwerk will continue to wow audiences worldwide, keep an eye on our social media to see where it goes next.

A huge congratulations to Company Wayne McGregor, Studio Olafur Eliasson , Jamie xx, Sadler’s Wells and Paris Opera Ballet and of course Jonathan Safran Foer whose book the piece was inspired by.
