The four Manchester organisations offering apprenticeship roles in partnership with MIF are:
Manchester Metropolitan University
Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) is a leading, modern university with a history of education since 1824. Manchester Metropolitan University Apprentices will work with the Technical Services Technicians to support staff and students of the School of Theatre to put on their productions whilst also working with the wider performance team and assisting the galleries team with technical elements of exhibitions.
The Royal Exchange Theatre
The Royal Exchange Theatre (RET), is an award-winning theatre, producing world-class theatre in the heart of Manchester.
As a Creative Venue Technician Apprentice, you will play an active part in the technical operation of the venue – working on elements such as lighting, audio and scene changes and using a variety of tools to make, install and maintain scenery and other equipment.

HOME works with international and UK artists to produce extraordinary theatrical experiences, producing an exciting mix of drama, dance and festivals, with a strong focus on international work, new commissions and talent development.
As a member of the Technical Team, you will work to support touring shows who are visiting the venue, and companies HOME works with to create performances and events. In the role, you would support the Technical and the Lighting, Sound, and Video teams to help deliver the technical needs of the venue.
In 2020, The Lowry will celebrate two decades of cultural enrichment in Salford. Since its opening in 2000 they have welcomed more than 16 million visitors, 5,400 productions, 150 exhibitions and 234,000 learning and engagement participants to their building.
