MIF’s creative community is our growing community of creative people from all backgrounds, ages and corners of the city who are forging closer connections with MIF.

If you’re interested in joining, sign up to My Festival. We’ll keep you updated on all our projects, from regular socials, talent and learning opportunities to the intimate Festival in My House, offering you exclusive opportunities to be part of our work. And you can get involved in a multitude of ways – taking part in major public events, providing a link between MIF and your community, and joining our new programme of training activities, workshops and other special events.

Our Spring Social is taking place on Thursday 19th April, 6.30pm – 9.00pm at PLANT NOMA, a great open design studio, workshop and events space operated by OH OK Ltd.

Join us for an evening packed with pottery, poetry and performance.

Local poet Ella Otomewo will perform a new piece, inspired by the programme of work which the Creative Learning team have been developing in partnership with members of MIF’s Creative Community. You’ll also hear from MIF’s Creative Director Mark Ball on developing plans for The Factory. There will also be a chance to find out more about the Festival in My House/Festival in My Neighbourhood opportunity.

As PLANT NOMA is an open design studio and workshop space, you will also have the chance to try your hand at pottery with 10 minute taster sessions.

The event is free and open to all. To find out more about the event and to book your place click here.

Please note: To access the details via eventbrite you will need the following password: THEFACTORY

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send us an email.

Get involved

Every year thousands of people take part in Manchester International Festival – as volunteers and participants in shows, skills development workshops, creative activities or even as planners of their own micro-international Festivals for their friends and neighbors.

This year we’ve launched My Festival, a new creative community for MIF and a way of keeping up to date with (and helping shape) what MIF is doing locally. It’s a way of connecting with MIF, and all of our brilliant local contributors, year-round.
