Five foodie questions: Hispi

It’s day four in our five-day, five-question survey of our lovely Festival Square food traders. After our chats with Honest Crust, Manjit’s Kitchen and Heathcote & Co with the Staff of Life Bakery, we’re talking today with the team from Hispi, who’ll be making their Festival Square debut from Friday 30 June to Sundsy 16 July…


First things first: who are you?

Hispi, from the team behind Sticky Walnut in Chester, opened in Didsbury in October 2016. Our bistro is about offering people the freedom to eat really good food on their doorstep: you can walk into Hispi knowing that you’ll get good, inspired food in a relaxed atmosphere at a really great price. Manchester has welcomed us with open arms.


In five words, what are you serving on Festival Square?

Hispi – food on the go…


What’s the most popular item on your menu?

By far the most popular dish on our menu at the restaurant is the featherblade [braised beef]. It’s served with our truffle and parmesan chips, which you’ll find on our MIF menu.


Of the other traders on Festival Square, whose food are you most excited to try?

We really like Honest Crust: we love visiting their site at Altrincham Market House, and can’t wait for them to open in the Northern Quarter.


When you’re not at MIF, where can people find you?

We’re open seven days a week in Didsbury.
