Festival in My House arrived in Bury, Greater Manchester for the first time and saw Josef and Louise Minta invite their neighbours into their home to think together about what our future citizens, community or society could look like. Together they shared thoughts and ideas over a delicious vegetarian menu designed by award-winning chef Eddie Shepherd. A creative and immersive experience was designed with the help of artist Leo Kay, to support the hosts and guests to think about what might be possible in the future world we play a part in creating.
Every year thousands of people take part in Manchester International Festival – as volunteers and participants in shows, skills development workshops, creative activities or even as planners of their own micro-international Festivals for their friends and neighbors.
This year we’ve launched My Festival, a new creative community for MIF and a way of keeping up to date with (and helping shape) what MIF is doing locally. It’s a way of connecting with MIF, and all of our brilliant local contributors, year-round.
