Safeguarding Policies

These policies apply to all paid staff, volunteers, sessional workers, freelance workers, students, trustees, board members or anyone else working on behalf of Manchester International Festival.

The purpose of the policies are:

  • To protect adults at risk, children and young people who use our services, including the children of adults who use our services
  • To provide staff and volunteers with the overarching principles that support and guide our approach to safeguarding, child protection and Adults at Risk

Manchester International Festival believes that adults at risk, children and young people should not experience abuse of any kind. As a society, we all have a responsibility to promote the welfare of adults at risk, children and young people and to keep them safe. We are committed to providing safe spaces and activities that consider the physical and emotional wellbeing, that promote equality and diversity and that support development.
