These terms and conditions relate to tickets issued for Manchester International Festival “MIF” events and form part of the contractual agreement between ticket holders and MIF. These terms and conditions must be read in accordance with the venue terms, conditions and regulations, copies of which are available on request from the venue. Please read these documents carefully.

MIF endeavours to treat all ticket holders with respect and care, ensuring their safety and security whilst attending an event. Your compliance with the following will assist us in doing so.

1. Tickets and Distribution

1.1 The ticket remains the property of MIF and may be withdrawn, with admission to the event refused at any time.

1.2 Limits on the number of tickets available for purchase by 1 individual may be in place. These limits will be stated on the event page at mif.co.uk. Failure to comply with these limits may result in some or all of the individual’s tickets being cancelled without notice.

1.3 Tickets cannot be returned, nor money refunded, except in the case of cancelled, rescheduled or sold out events. Please contact tickets@mif.co.uk if you wish to return tickets to sold out events or obtain a refund for cancelled or rescheduled events. We cannot guarantee the resale of tickets which have been returned for sold out events (so may not be able to provide a refund) but we will use reasonable efforts to resell the tickets on your behalf. Payments by MIF for cancelled, rescheduled or resold tickets will be made via the original method of payment.

1.4 It is your responsibility to check your tickets carefully when you receive them to ensure the details contained therein are correct. Please contact us immediately if you think there is a mistake at tickets@mif.co.uk

1.5 MIF cannot be responsible for lost, destroyed or stolen tickets. In some cases, replacement tickets may be issued but this is at the sole discretion of MIF and the venue and a reasonable administration charge may be levied. Please contact tickets@mif.co.uk if your tickets are lost, destroyed or stolen.

1.6 Where applicable, tickets will be delivered to the address supplied at the point of sale, typically 1-2 weeks prior to the event. If you have not received your tickets 72 hours before the event, please contact us at tickets@mif.co.uk. It is your responsibility to inform MIF of any change of address.

1.7 Where applicable, e-tickets will be emailed to the email address supplied at the point of sale. An e-ticket can be shown on a mobile device or printed on A4 paper for entry. If you have not received your e-tickets from us 72 hours before the event, please contact us at tickets@mif.co.uk. It is your responsibility to inform MIF of any change of email address.

1.8 If MIF or the venue considers it necessary, tickets may need to be collected from the venue before the start of the event. Unless otherwise advised, this will be from 1 hour prior to the start of the event. We recommend collecting tickets no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.

1.9 Tickets are issued solely for personal use and must not be resold for profit or commercial gain. Failure to comply will make the ticket void and non-refundable.~

1.10 Any MIF Member who attempts to resell tickets for profit or commercial gain may have their membership revoked.

1.11 Where possible, MIF will facilitate a ticket exchange for an alternative performance of the same event. A £2 per ticket fee will apply.

1.12 MIF offers tickets for sale for some events via other approved agents, where indicated at mif.co.uk. These may include the venue at which an event is held. If you use approved agents you are bound by both these terms and conditions and those stated at the point of sale by the approved agent. If you are in any doubt as to whether an agent is approved or not, please contact tickets@mif.co.uk

2. Admission

2.1 Latecomers may have to wait until a suitable break in the performance to enter and late admission cannot be guaranteed.

2.2 Security searches may be in operation. Failure to comply with any reasonable request for a security search will result in refusal of entry.

2.3 Pass-outs or re-admission are provided at the sole discretion of MIF and/or the venue.

2.4 Age guidelines may be issued which are specific to the event booked. In some cases, an event may not be suitable for children, or children may need to be accompanied by an adult. Age guidelines can be found on the event webpage.

2.5 You must comply with all relevant statutes, safety announcements and venue regulations whilst attending the event.

2.6 Ticket holders consent to filming, sound recording and being photographed as members of the audience. If you would prefer not to be included in any image recording, please speak to a member of MIF staff or a volunteer. They will be wearing a staff pass at the event and will provide information on how to make sure you are not included. Notices will be posted at the entrance to any venue where photography or video recording is planned, with similar information.

2.7 The venue and/or MIF reserve the right to refuse or revoke admission, including (but not limited to) for health and safety reasons, where a ticket is void or if the ticket holder’s behaviour is considered unreasonable by either MIF or the venue, in their sole opinion.

3. Alteration

3.1 MIF reserves the right to make changes to the event where MIF believes it is reasonably necessary to do so.

3.2 Changes to the event may include, but are not limited to, altering the billing, start time, venue, seating arrangements and any other changes reasonably necessary which do not affect the nature of the performance. MIF will use reasonable endeavours to communicate such changes to ticket holders as soon as is reasonably possible.

3.3 MIF will use reasonable endeavours to inform ticket holders of the cancellation or rescheduling of a performance. However, it remains the responsibility of the ticket holder to monitor whether the performance is cancelled or rescheduled. If an event is rescheduled, it is the ticket holder’s responsibility to ascertain the date and time of the rescheduled event.
