Festival Square July 13 canvas

Fierce, funny and utterly fantastic – Bristol’s Billy Nomates is one of a kind. Fresh from her acclaimed debut album and a collaboration with Sleaford Mods, she was in the Square on Tuesday 13 July, part of a packed evening schedule that also featured pop provocateur Lone Taxidermist, Manchester post-punkers Loose Articles, DJ Abigail Ward (Suffragette City) and the All Hands on Deck collective.

The daytime was no less busy. Live sets from country-influenced singer-songwriter Emily Lockett and pop-funk act Paige Kennedy were followed by an eclectic mix from Jeff O’Toole and the latest in our Records of Reflection series. And to kick off, Reform Radio and Thirty Pound Gentleman were back to bring us soulful sets from Sarah Angel and Lashimba, as well as a turn on the decks from DR MYSTERY.

We would like to thank Therme Group, Co-op, JW Lees, Hawkins\Brown, Buro Happold and Civic Engineers for their contributions to Festival Square.
