The final Festival Saturday night brought the glorious mirror-balled return of Fabaret! – a flamboyant queer revue featuring four shows for the price of none from Cheddar Gorgeous (Oh What a Lovely Lockdown), Taylor Le Fin (Common People), TomYumSim (Be My Embrace Now) and Jason Andrew Guest (Welcome to the Haus of Myztique), supported by Superbia and Pride Stages. It was followed by four hours of anything-goes, everyone’s-welcome dancefloor action with a Save Our Scene special from High Hoops – a real Saturday-night fever…

We kicked off with LayFullstop joining Babyrocksampler and Both Sides Now for a family-friendly lunchtime session, followed by a two-part One Mic Stand poetry slam featuring 10 of the city’s most vital young spoken-word acts plus a set from local poet Thabo. Good Afternoon and Kath McDermott got the party started in the early evening – interspersed with two more great acts from the Reform Radio stable, Trees.R.Good and KING.
