Riz Ahmed – musician, storyteller, actor and activist – brings a special one-off streamed performance to

The Long Goodbye, Ahmed’s electrifying live music show, was due to premiere in Manchester back in March. Three days before the first performance, the UK went into lockdown – and the show, commissioned by MIF and Brooklyn Academy of Music, was postponed until 2021 (dates TBA).

Ahmed, though, has reacted to lockdown by creating this one-off online performance. Developed especially for the digital realm and presented in immersive sound, it’s a companion piece to the live show, which we’re planning to present in Manchester next year – watch this space.

The Long Goodbye: Livestream Edition will blend storytelling, music from acclaimed album The Long Goodbye and immersive sound to guide us through an emotional landscape – unravelling the album tracks to tell the story of this moment through a personal journey, while asking: ‘How did we get here?’ It follows on the heels of ‘Once Kings’, Ahmed’s brand new track (watch the video here), and his new film Mogul Mowgli, available for rental online.

The Long Goodbye: Livestream Edition will stream worldwide on Saturday 19 December 2020 at 8pm GMT / 12noon PST / 3pm EST. Tickets go on sale at 2pm (GMT) on Thursday 10 December and are priced on a pay-what-you-feel basis at £5, £10, £15 or £20. Each ticket is per household, not per person – so no matter how many people will be watching in your household on the night, you only need to buy a single ticket.
